LIPOSOMAL TECHNIQUE

INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUE

Our liposomal food supplements are designed with an innovative technique that guarantee a major absorption of substances than the traditional nutraceuticals in capsules and tablets

WHY LIPOSOMES ARE MORE EFFECTIVE

When you take supplements in capsules or tablets, the 80% of the pill will be lost during the normal digestive process. Thanks to our innovative liposomal technique, your body will be able to absorb more substances ingested.

LIPOSOMAL TECHNOLOGY,
WHY SHOULD WE USE IT?

Each supplement has as target our cell tissues, which are reached through the bloodstream. Oral supplements are by far the most common type, but their main disadvantage is their alleged (supposed) ineffectiveness. Indeed, the most sensitive components lose efficiency by passing through the digestive canal or, are not absorbed and are expelled before they fulfill their role.

Scientists have found that liposomal formulations can be used to carry substances, including food supplements and protecting them. Liposomes have been shown to improve the bioavailability of nutrients by 46 times: bioavailability indicates the amount of a substance that effectively enters the bloodstream.

WHAT ARE
LIPOSOMES?

Liposomes are spherical vesicles, consisting of one or more layers of phospholipids, varying in size between 25 nm and 1µm. The interest in liposomes is given by their membrane, consisting of cholesterol and phospholipids, whose structure and composition is very similar to the membrane of our body cells.
The phospholipids consist of a hydrophobic tail and a hydrophilic head. After coming into contact with an aqueous system, phospholipids reorganize as follows: hydrophobic tails attract each other, while hydrophilic heads take contact both with the outside and with the internal aqueous environment.

It is possible to deposit different substances inside these vesicles. Particularly, the fat-soluble molecules will be interned in the double layer, while water-soluble molecules within the liposome.
Liposomal encapsulation process allows substances to effectively penetrate tissues, protecting them from the risk of oxidation and degradation. Liposomes, in fact, pass intact across the digestive tract reaching the target in a selective way. This greatly improves absorption and bioavailability of the active ingredients for the organism.

RELEASE MECHANISM
OF ACTIVE MOLECULES

Diffusion and erosion are the two main mechanisms regulating the release of active ingredients from liposomes. Liposomes allow an accumulation of active substances close to the target cells and their release facilitation into them.
This is possible thanks to two key steps: endocytosis and the release of the active ingredient from the endosomal. The double phospholipid layers of liposome and cell membrane, respectively, interact with each other leading to a fusion between the two membranes.

Following the internalization of the vesicle, liposomes containing active molecules are incorporated into the endosomes, that are organelles inside the cell that take part in the pathways of sorting and cell secretion.

MAIN
FEATURES

PROTECTION OF ACTIVES

The acidic environment of the stomach can damage or degrades certain active substances. Thanks to the use of liposomes, these substances are encapsulated inside the vesicle and are protected by the digestive system.

“MASKING”

Phospholipids are able to mask active substances to permit its major absorption; thus, avoiding the selective action carried out by the small intestine.

BETTER ABSORPTION

Liposomes are mostly absorbed in the intestine, since they consist of phospholipids, just like our cell membranes. Through normal fat absorption, the active ingredients enter directly into the intestinal cells and from there into the blood through the lymphatic system. The path through the liver can thus be avoided.
